To me Superman's personality kind of gets lost in all the Justic

To me Superman's personality kind of gets lost in all the Justice League Stories and things like that, this book really brings Superman back down to Earth in a way and reminds the reader why he has been such a beloved character for decades.

    Really good early Supes story!!

I have historically loved the combination of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. There work on Batman, Daredevil, Spider-Man, and the Hulk etc., have been great. Here, their take on a young Clark Kent dealing with being Superman was really good. Told through the eyes of four different people in Clark¿s life we, the readers, get to see how different people view Clark differently. While the book is light on the action the inner turmoil and emotional impact is pretty huge. The dialogue from Ma and Pa Kent was the highlight to me. The art by Sale was a little less sharp than I remember and his Superman looked slightly too beefy but it was still good. Overall a really good book.

    Wow

Hands down this is the greatest Superman Story that has ever been told in my own oppinion. Only Jeph Loeb's insightful story telling could have been used for this emotional trip through clark kent's life. Sale's Artwork is simple but brilliant. Loeb is in my oppinion one of the most creative comic writers in history and I hold him as high if not higher than frank miller and Alan moore. This is the best comic team in history that has written and illustrated for one of the most power-ful charecters in history.

    This is the Ultimate Superman

This is quite possibly the best Superman story ever told. I know it's the best comic series I've ever read. The art, the story, everything meshes so well together. Read it once, it's great. Read it twice, it's a masterpiece.

    A Deceptively Simple Story

The story here is told on a few different levels and may require more than one reading to absorb. Another great graphic novel from the creators of 'The Long Halloween'. Similarities to TLH include the theme of the hero's need to believe in himself and what he stands for. All of us need a rooted sense of self and purpose to be effective individuals. Lex Luthor shatters Superman's belief system, an attack more devastating than kryptonite. A well told story adults and children can enjoy.
