Adorable
I bought this book when it first came out and loved every bit of it. It is a cute lighter side. I had a hard time putting it down. Well done Jimmy.

An excellent, excellent book!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I was looking for something funny, but well told. I received everything I expected, and more. I will be going back for the author's other books and borrow his music from a good friend!

Great Beach Read
I have been a fan of Jimmy Buffet's since I was young, I love his music and have always wanted to read his books, finally bought one to try for the beach, though not the most literary writers of our time he is entertaining and the book was a great beach read. You can put it down and come back to it without feeling lost and the "what did I just read" feeling.

A reviewer
I'm not a reviewer or a critic.I have read all of Jimmy Buffett's books. I have been waiting on this one for a while.WOW!!! Wonderfully written in the only way Jimmy can.He can tell a story and create it so you are there and a part of the whole thing. Jimmy, don't pay attention to the reviewers and such, not like you ever have,LOL. Just think,if we all listened to what one person told us instead of the ones who truly mean something none of us would have ever got anywhere.Keep up the good work, and remember, There's a fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Fun, light read
I enjoyed this book. However, A Salty Piece Of Land is a much better example of Jimmy in his element as a storyteller.

Jimmy Buffett comes through as usual!
I really enjoyed this novel. It was a nice light read, while being very entertaining and fun. It is definitely a page turner. Thank you, Mr. Buffett!!!

Jimmy Buffett was presented with this idea, complete with photos by Helen Bransford, and he thought about it, and asked himself, "Swine Not?" - and this story was born.

Helen told Jimmy that it was based on something that actually happened...but a pig in a four-star hotel in New York City?
SWINE NOT? is a very entertaining romp told from the alternating points of view of Rumpy, the pig, and Barley, her boy owner. Rumpy is a pot-bellied pig who accompanies her human family to New York when they move there, and she has an agenda of her own. She heard that her brother, Lukie, is in New York City, and she is determined to find him.
They live in a glass box-like unit at the top of a fancy high-rise hotel. The hotel chef has a special affinity for pork, and he's sharpening his knives and dusting off his recipes with Rumpy in mind. Keeping Rumpy hidden is a challenging proposition that keeps the whole family on alert.
This story is not quite what I expected from the old pirate, but Jimmy Buffett tells a good tale in this light-hearted adventure that will appeal to all ages. The characters are compelling and the action never stops. It's a quick read that is highly recommended for reluctant readers. -
Why Swine Not
This was a cute story but I would put it down and forget to pick it back up. I was hoping for something more like A Salty Piece of Land which I really enjoyed.

Catchy is not the word but just right is
Life is always more fun than fiction and this book proves the theory.

Not the usual Buffett book
I read this book not really knowing what to expect. I've read A Salty Piece of Land about a million times so I thought I knew what Buffett was about, but apparently not.

I loved this book, though. I would recommend it for a Jr High, Tween age person, not necessarily an adult, but it's good all the same. -
Enjoyable Read
This book turned out to be my favorite out of all of his books that I've read. Some parts I was even laughing out loud, and I enjoy books that make you do that. It's true that compared to his others I would consider this book more of a young-adult, but it was still great, and it would be perfect for kids who are struggling with moving to a new town, love soccer, have a pet pig, or is trying to hide their pig in a five-star-hotel with a crazy butcher that lives downstairs.

And the mythical characters just keep on gettin better!!
This is my third Buffett book and by far my favorite. I loved the perspectives each of the characters gives as they move from their relatively quiet and peaceful life on a farm to the storm of civilization that is New York City. Just like his music, Jimmy takes you away and makes you part of the story. Any escape from reality this soldier can get always helps. Thanks, Jimmy!!

Gotta Love The Quirkiness
As playful as some of his songs. Totally original Buffett! Gave it to my whole family to read and then we quoted most of it back to each other!

Four and a half stars if I could
This is the first book by Buffett I've read and I really enjoyed it. The part about 'Respect' definitely had me rolling with laughter. I'll never look at pigs the same again.

Swine WHY?
I loved his music, but this book was an insult to my time. Maybe Jimmy was smoking something and needs the money!
