Tame a Wild Heart by Cynthia Woolf is a historical romance set in Colorado in the 1880s. I enjoyed reading Woolf's romantic western but overall I felt that there were several missing pieces to the story. The beginning of the novel felt abrupt and choppy at times. I found it interesting that Catherine and Duncan had some prior history with one another but I felt like Woolf could've played it up a little more. I think it would've helped with the intimate moments between the two characters. As a reader I kind of felt thrown into the middle of the relationship from the beginning and at that point, I had no reason to care or desire for the two characters to be with one another. I do think Woolf did a great job with the book's overall tone and setting. The story line is good, I just think it needs some minor work. Overall, I enjoyed reading Woolf's Tame a Wild Heart, romantic westerns are my favorite.

I read lots of Nook romances and like the Western stories almost as much as the military black ops books. This book was a good read with lots of characters and action. I, too, enjoyed the "book within a book" and all the attention to historical detail. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
