A Table In The Presence
A Table in the Presence is about the struggles and triumphs of Lt. Carey H. Cash and the men that he served with during the Iraq war.
The story follows chaplain Lt. Cash as he goes from regiment to regiment in the fifth battalion sharing God’s word to each and every
soldier that needs to hear them, in the harsh surroundings of war. His story takes you from his very first experience in war, to him
baptizing soldiers, and to the sadness of losing friends and soldiers alike in the horrors of war. This true story shows you the great
power that God beholds over everyone and that even in the chaos of war God’s light can shine through. The story is a powerful
piece that shows God’s presence in the harshest environments but also shows the hearts of men and that even in horrible times
people will still help the weak and fight for what’s right no matter the risk. This book can be given to many people because it can
relate to almost everyone, there are some parts that a child may not understand and the book does use many military terms that
don’t seem needed and sometimes seem to just get in the way. However that does not take away from the content of the book at
all, it is very easy to understand and even though there are some terms you may not understand there are abbreviations that give
away what the terms mean. I recommend this book to anyone that has military background or someone that just wants to see the
power God has over us all. Anyone would enjoy the powerful message that this book has to offer.

Very good stuff. Never was a big fan of military chaplains while I served but this is a view of war from a very different perspective. I recommend it along with books by Jeff Streucker, Chris Plekenpol, Tim Moynihan, Nate Self and other believers. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This book so clearly shares the strength and commitment of our troops. The insights of Commander Cash and the love of our Lord he shares with us during such tramatic times is uplifting and heart warming. I am buying this book for each of my teenage grandchildren. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

a must read!
The book Table in the Presence by Carey Cash is Christ centered book about soldiers fighting in the Iraqi War. The book told an in-depth description about their daily life to a few battles with more details than the news gave us. The author, Chaplain Cash shared his personal experiences and the incidents that happened to the brave men of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment. Was this review helpful? The book is an encouraging and spiritual story that helped create an appreciation for the soldiers fighting in Iraq. It shared uplifting stories about the soldiers' relationships, their courage and faith. This book is recommended reading for those directly affected by the war or interested in more than the physical battles of war. The stories conveyed the soldiers' emotions during battle and their awe of God's provision. I developed a greater respect for soldiers, and what sacrifices they go through to protect us. But, I felt the book contributed the sense that God is on our side, which would be debatable for some. A Table in the Presence was interesting reading and I learned more about the Iraq war through the soldiers that fought.

A uplifting read by one of God's warriors about a very trying time in our history. A true depiction of men in danger and the power of God's caring and protection! A truly moving exercise. I would love to meet and shake the hands of each soldier. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Amazing, uplifting and completely gung-ho story!
I cannot recommend this book too highly. Want an insider's view of the Iraq war? It's here. Want a book that will help you grow closer to God? This is it. Looking for something that will make you appreciate your life each and every day? Look no further! I laughed and cried through the pages of this book, then reread it, more slowly, to commit things to memory. This is THE first great war book (and anti-war book) of the 21st century. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
