The book "Take a Shot" is more than just a book about Lacrosse...it is a book about following ones dreams. Take a Shot tells the tale of a guy having a dream and forming a partnership that made that dream a reality. Jake "Body By Jake" Steinfield was just that person, to the world he was a man that created the perfect body, but he had way more dreams and ambitions than just that, he wanted the sport of Lacrosse to be a household name in the United States like basketball and football. The sport had been around for years but was mostly played in high schools and colleges, there had never been a major league team. Many people told him this was a pipe dream and it would never work but he believed in his dream and formed a partnership as well as a friendship with former Princeton lacrosse player Dave Morrow, who later when on and created a company called Warrior, a company that supplied lacrosse equipment.
Though Jake had an established name in the business and Dave the knowledge of the sport, they still faced an uphill battle, many doors were closed, and many answers were no, but Jake and Dave were determined to get this sport out there, They faced long nights and even longer days but when one lost focus they had the other to lean on.
This book is filled with many funny and amusing stories of the journey the two of these two friends and business partners endured, but through perseverance they succeeded and now major league lacrosse is a household name in the United States. This book will teach you about lacrosse, but it will teach you many other things as well, never give up on your dreams, no matter what obstacle you face, if you believe in something then never let anybody tell you it's impossible, and doing anything with a friend makes the journey that much more pleasant and the dream that much easier to obtain.
