WAKE UP AMERICA
Required reading for anyone interested in the current and future economic well-being of the USA. Intelligent, frightening, and accurate. 'Free Trade' is not free -- it only makes the super-rich richer and the working and middle classes of all nations involved -- ultimately exploited and poorer. Free Trade is a falacy which will destroy us if the rules don't change. Friedman's 'The World Is Flat' is a bunch of manure -- reading Senator Dirgan's book should convince anyone with half a brain of this fact. I wish that Senator Dorgan could run for President -- perhaps ??? He's the only politician in high places that seems to give a damn about THIS country. We need a helluva lot more like him.

Ask the Senators about their retirement package...
Yes, the book is to the point. However, our country knows little about how members of congress have consistently given themselves raises over the years such that when they retire, they receive a healthy $200K+ 'pension' per year when they retire (but simply refuse to raise minimum wage for the regular people). We (tax payers) are paying this people to do what ????? (Screw up our country). What these Senators and Representatives ought to do is stop looking out for them and look out for America.

Pure Sophomoric Liberal Drivel
Byron Dorgan neglects to mention that liberal Democrat support of unions like AFL-CIO and NEA have destrroyed our economy in the decades since WWII. It has given us workers who have destroyed corporations like US Steel, GM and Ford with poor quality of workmanship, Coke bottles in our car doors, and undeserved high wages and benefits. The rest of our inability to compete sits directly on the shoulders of the NEA whose teachers and administrators have driven US secondary education to last place among industrialized nations causing HS graduation rates of less than 70% and demotivating two generations of entry level workers and are actively sabotaging No Child Left Behind. Perhaps that's why he wants to turn back the clock to 1950 to eliminate the Democrat policy errors which continue to plague us into the 21st century.
