Inspiration, Motivation, Technique, Heart and Soul alled rolled into this awesome book!

This is not just a technique book, it's chock full of pure heart and soul coupled with fantastic art and step by step techniques! I was so inspired that I had to run out and pick up a few new supplies that I had no idea were even out there. This book has so many ideas paired with heart felt stories of looking deep within in order to step out of your comfort zone and soar! Kelly Rae is incredible! -Carmen

I found this book totally by accident. I love it. It has sent me down a brand new path. I actually have a copy for my bedroom and my car. I found it to be so inspiring, warm and cozy. Just what I need right now. I refer to it soooo often.

I have been an artist of sorts for well over 50 years. My work has been mainly done with needle and threads of all kinds. Quilting, embrodery, ribbon work, silk ribbon embrodery, crochet, knitting, doll making, on and on and on. Once I started mixed media I was on a path that seems to be beyond endless. I so love the "TAKING FLIGHT". apporach. When Kelly Rae talks about whispers, I don't hear whispers. I hear shouting dreams. It is wonderful. Makes sleep a little hard but so worth it.

Lessons on a lot more than art!!!

I am reading this book and cannot put it down. There are beautiful art lessons which I will certainly learn from, however, there are life lessons as well that almost mean more that the art! Kelly's writing is as if she is looking into my windows and putting to paper what she sees in me. I can totally connect with her words. I would recommend this book to any one, artistic or not, you just may see a little of yourself on her pages!

    Taking Flight

This book was a great inspiration to me. It gives you examples of every idea it presents but in such a way that you can shape your own art. Was very helpful for brainstorming and for learning about new techniques.
