One of my favorite books ever

I read this book a few years ago and I couldn't put it down. I swear I read for two days straight. I was never a big Stephen King fan, because I find his work to be a little creepy for me, then my friend lent me this book and was amazed when I handed it back to him three days later and said it was the best book I had ever read!

    Not my favorite

I've read a lot of stephen king books. This one, though, I just could not get into. Its kind of hard to follow. It talks a lot about random stuff that probably has meaning later in the book but it makes the book drag on.

    Pretty poor

I read about 3/4 through and then gave up. The book has two of the most annoying characters I have ever encountered - a friendly werewolf named Wolfe, and a boy named Richard. The latter especially drove me crazy enough to stop reading.

    More like: THE ALBATROSS

I've been a huge fan of Stephen King's for many years, and there's not much he hasn't written that I haven't read - but The Talisman was one I had never read, until now. I think what finally motivated me was the sequel coming out: Black House. I must be honest here; I loved the idea of the book; I loved the character, Wolf; but there wasn't much else in this oversized book which gripped me. There was very little horror in this brick-sized book - which really surprised me since two of the best horror authors wrote it as a team. I found myself constantly looking at the page numbers, hoping the bordom would end. This book was just plain old dull, dull, dull. And believe me, it pains me to say that because I'm a rabid King fan. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Black House is far better. What puzzles me is that most of whom I've talked to about The Talisman have said they loved it. Maybe I'm missing something here. I'll stick with The Stand, Cujo, Salem's Lot, and Pet Sematary, thank you very much. Maybe the Miniseries which is due out will be far better. I'd like to see how they would film the territories for when Jack flips over into that other realm.
