Recommended for people who love nature.

Overall I thought this book was slightly interesting. Due to the fact that it explained a lot of the reasons why animals behave on Earth. It also taught a good lesson about how you should always listen to animals in nature because they have better instincts than humans. One part I particularly like was the underground cave sheltering themselves from a hurricane and observing the animals behavior. The animals knew there was a storm coming. It made me realize how smart animals really are and made me appreciate them more. If you are ever stranded in unknown territory having read this book will give you a better perspective on how to use animals to survive based on their instincts. Humans take advantage of modern technology by becoming immune to nature. Some people do not understand that we are held captive by the world's technology and rely on this every day. Animals have always had to survive based on natural ability to adjust to natures obsticals. This is the main idea of the book. In closing, I would recommend more interesting ways to describe animals in nature, their natural environment and ways they react to each other. The things that did interest me was the way the author described how the girl survived in the wild by listening to the animals and their instincts. The last thing I liked about this book was that the author described the settings of nature in the Everglades drawing a vivid picture for me.
