    Encouragement for Seniors

For anyone who is elderly and living alone, they are probably lonely. No matter how many friends and family members they have, they still spend countless hours alone. This great devotional book is designed specifically for the journey that so many of our seniors find themselves in. Missy Buchanan has beautifully captured the emotions, fears and worries of the elderly. The meditations and psalms are transparent in a way I have never seen before. Losing a spouse, moving out of your house, and losing independence must be devastating. There are so many that also lose their dignity as their body functions fail and frail bodies prevent them from getting around on their own. So many changes, that it must be really hard to cope at times. If someone in your life needs encouragement and understanding in their golden years, please consider getting a copy of this book to share with them. Tailored specifically to extend hope and encouragement to seniors, this book is also an invaluable tool for anyone who cares for seniors, either personally or professionally. It helps to understand the worries, fears and frustrations that seniors are dealing with on a daily basis.

    Old Age Devotions

This thin booklet contains a first-person account of a nursing home resident, talking to God. Each thought is followed by a selection from Psalms, reassuring of God's unchanging love and presence.

Many of the fears and concerns of the aging are accurately presented, which can make it depressing reading. Only by focusing on the final thoughts of each meditation is the reader encouraged.

Thank you to Audra Jennings at B&B Media Group for my copy.

    A Blessing!

Talking With God In Old Age, Meditations and Psalms by Missy Buchanan arrived in this morning's mail. I spent part of the afternoon reading it in preparation for this review. It is simplistic, yet sensitively bold in the topics of each devotional. This book is written for and to those in their senior years, but it would benefit so many others. Missy Buchanan writes about those issues the elderly face on a daily basis, yet always ends with encouragement and Scripture from God's Word. This book was delightful in its presentation, sometimes humorous, but often reflecting the pain and frailty of the elderly.

The book is printed in large, easy to read type. The wording is such that a child could understand. I would like to recommend this book especially to those aging, but would also encourage you to purchase a copy if you minister to the elderly, an aging parent, or to read to your children if you have an older relative residing in your home

This Book Is About As Genuine And Honest About One's Faith In Their Later Years!

Missy Buchanan has provided us with another book filled with spiritual encouragement for those of any age that will help us understand that the best years are still ahead of our older loved ones. I'd also recommend that you buy "When God Stopped Keeping Score," an intimate look at the power of God and forgiveness. It's a great book with a timeless message.
