The Tempest (Folger Shakespeare Library Series)

My fav Shakespeare....

....second only to 'The Winters Tale'. The main character serves as an image for a loving father, God Himself even. I was afraid when I took a course on Shakespeare that his stories would be too hard to follow in their old language, but it's really not that hard if you just stay focused and refer to Cliffsnotes whenever you get really lost.

I read this because i wanted to know it feels like to act. I always said,"im gonna be anbactor when i grow up "

First Shakespeare I ever read.

The reason I read this play was because of personal reasons. My ancestor Stephen Hopkins was aboard the Sea Venture in which influenced this play. Good read. Derek D

Awesome

This is awesome because i had a play about it and i didnt even know about it and it helped me my favorite charecter was areal (because she was my part)

I highly recommend it!

I personally feel that of all of Shakespeare's works, the language in The Tempest is one of the easiest to understand. That being said, the notes and meanings given on the left-hand pages helped immensely while reading. I will ALWAYS buy Barnes and Noble Shakespeare.

Great buy

Great way to introduce yourself to the Tempest - Great story and really helpful notes and articles.

okay

This is one of Shakespeare's comedies. It has moments of humor, but the plot is pretty far-fetched and involves a bit too much sorcery and wandering drunkenly about a deserted island for my taste.

The Tempest was an OK play, but it wasn't one of my favorites. It might have been that it wasn't what I was expecting. It was also just a little bit hard to understand. If you are going to read this play you should buy the cliff notes or just take your time reading it .

Brilliant

William Shakespeare's play The Tempest, is one of the best play i have read so far. In this play, Shakespeare conveys numerous things that relates to the real world. This play is not a easy play to understand. It takes time to know what's happening in each scene. Moreover, the reader needs to analyze each line carefully so he/she can understand what each line means.Over all, The tempest is a great play to read, and i am really sure that once your finished with the play, you would want to read another play by shakespeare.

You need to take your time because if you rush into it you will not get the full effect as you will if you would take your time and understand. I think that you should read this and act out some of your favorite scenes!!! Just have FUN!!
