Tepper doesn't have a life, nor does this book...
This book was given to me as a gift and I read it with much anticipation, being a NYer who owns a car and parks it on the street. I hoped to be laughing out loud in every chapter. Instead I found most of it tedious reading, a sort of imitation "Bonfire of the Vanities" without the compelling characters. There were moments of laugh out loud humor and a savy (not out of date) about parking trivia in NYC, but I was mostly groaning at a protagonist who did not sustain any interest for me. The idea of anyone in NYC spending hours parking for the fun of it just doesn't fly. As an episode of Seinfeld, it might hold more appeal, But as literature? A miss. Was this review helpful?
