    This book is TEXAS IGNUNT

Fern, Fern, your first book in the series, Texas Rich, was captivating. Texas Heat a little less so. Texas Fury ended with a tornado, but the myriad events in this novel seemed to swirl for the duration! And then.....here's the REALLY IGNUNT part......Fern seems to have no concept of central Texas. For the location she is describing (just west of Austin), she has the terrain incorrect, the foliage incorrect, and most of all the WEATHER incorrect. At one point a character notes snow clouds in the sky, and the text reads: Snow. More snow. What region of the country did she think she was writing about? Minnesota? Snow is such a rarity, especially in this area of Texas. Ice storms do occur every few years. Not snow. Not six inches. Not more snow. And then we get to the INEXCUSABLY IGNUNT part......Fern refers to a TWO HOUR TIME DIFFERENCE between Texas (CST) and New York (EST). Huh? I'm sorry, Fern, this book was ignunt.

    Highly recommend the Texas series

This is my second time reading the Texas series. It is a great family saga with snapshots of Texas and Japan. Each character is very well developed. Fern Michaels is one of my favorite authors. She has other series that I have enjoyed but the Texas books are some of her very best novels.

MS MICHAELS SEEMS TO THINK AUSTIN, TEXAS IS IN THE PANHANDLE. M

MS MICHAELS SEEMS TO THINK AUSTIN, TEXAS IS IN THE PANHANDLE. MAYBE SHE SHOULD DO BETTER RESEARCH BEFORE WRITING A BOOK ABOUT A CERTAIN AREA OF THE COUNTRY. THIS IS THE WORST OF THE 3 TEXAS BOOKS SO FAR. TEXAS RICH WAS VERY GOOD, TEXAS HEAT NOT AS GOOD. THIS BOOK I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. STARTED OFF SLOW AND NEVER IMPROVED.

    Part 6

Thunder crouched in the bushes with the other cats in his group. He and Sky after making an allaience had decided to attack Shadows camp. They kept their plan simple:Sky and 10 other of the best fighters besides Thunder went in to the camp t try to get Shadow to surrender. If he did then the rest of the fighters would disperse and the war would be over. But if he chose war(which was more likely)then Sky and his cats would get out of there as quickly as possible. If they could not make it out and needed help Sky would yowl 1 time and Thunder and his 30 cats would come help them. If they did make it out, then they would start surounding the camp and make it impossib to get in or out and starve Shadow into submission. Hever hidden in the woods a little closer in then even Thunders troops, was a group of 20 cats. If the battle started turning against Thunder and Sky then these cats would come rushing to ther aid if Thunder yowled. Sky walked into the camp. With him were Briar Green Dakota(a brown tree-climber shecat)Crystal(a white ground-walker shecat) Jewel(a yellow white ground walker and Crystals sister)Leaf(a brown ground-walker tom)Oak(a brown and grey tree-cimber tom)Snake(a tortiseshell treeclimer shecat) and Lion(a golden ground walker tom.) The 11 cats walked up t the gaurds with Sky in front and the others forming a halfcircle around him. He talked briefly to the guards but Thunder couldnt make out the words. A pure black cat ran up from beside the thorn barrier around the camp perimeter and beckoned to Sky and the others with his tail. They followed the black cat into the camp and for a few minutes nothing happened. Then a loud yowl was heards. "Hurry!" Thunder yelled to his group. "We need to get in there!" The cats charged into the camp yowling battle cries. Thunder jumped onto a tiny black tom with brown paws. The tome collapsed underneath him and Thunder heard bones crunch. He leaped off that cat into another blue and black spotted shecat and slammed a paw into her head. She whird around ready to attack but was too late. Thunder slashed his claws at her ears then mimed for her legs. When she tried to doge the low blow,Thunder slammed his other paw into her neck. She died instantly but Thunder was already leaping away. Over and over again, killing wounding cracking bones, but there were too many cats. 2 cats were sitting on him and clawing at his neck. Thunder turned and twisted desperately. 'The relief troops!' He thought deerately. He managed t throw the 2 cats off of him long enough to yowl. "Relief troops advance!" Before the cats were on top of him again. This time, however,Thunder didnt have the strength to resist. 1 cat put a pas to his windpipe so he couldnt breathe while the other held him down. 'I hope the relief trrops heard me.' Was his last thought before the world turned black. Then suddenly a great weight was lifted off his chest and the paw in his neck was gone. Thunder gasped for breath looking up to see who had helped. The relief trrops had heard him! The cats were chasing all of Shadows followers out of their camp yowling at them as the black cats ran. Then a few cats ran after them to pursue them. Then a few more and a few more...until the whole group was following Shadow and his cats. "No stop!" Thunder yelled. (Out of carecters finished in next result.)
