This book shows readers that every time a door slams in your face, another one opens to good prospects. In other words, for every bad thing that happens to you, something good comes out of it.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. The message is powerful
I am Madonna's admirer and this book shows how talented and smart she is, and of course that makes her more beautiful then ever. As an orphan, I completely understand her message in this wonderful book. The artwork is stunning as well. I strongly recommend it.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. as good as the others, and maybe better
If you enjoyed the other three Madonna books for children, you will probably like this too. Abdi, the protagonist, reminds me of the little Prince in his habit of repeating what he wants to learn and believe. In this case, Abdi repeats to himself that everything bad that happens is for the best. In a sense, the moral of this story is very similar to Dr. Seuss' 'Oh, the places will you', that is, life is not only roses and you will have problems and difficult times, but you must keep trying your best because it is worth it. As 'Yakov and the 7 thieves', there is a miracle that happens in this story, something that cannot be explained and it is not really explained, but this miracle beautifully conveys that Abdi's endurance and good faith (and good nature) spoke louder than any bad luck that he across with. I enjoy Madonna's writing style; her light humor goes very well with the somehow classic tone of this story (similar to Yakov and the 7 thieves). I highly recommend this book. The artwork is stunning and gorgeous, and deserves a separate review. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
