Virgil's Greatness through Dryden's Eloquence
Dryden's translation of Virgil's AEneis, written entirely in heroic couplets, is wonderfully pleasing to the reader. This beautiful translation speaks not only for Virgil's timeless epic but also is the foundation for eighteenth-century literature. Alexander Pope's exquisite Homer translations were written with a copy of Dryden next to him. Through this book, one gains much knowledge about both Virgil's work and Dryden's glorious diction. I highly recommend this book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
