The organization and planning tired, artistic moms need!

We were artsy and creative before kids, I'm pretty sure. Then sleepless nights, carpooling, work, housework, husbands, communities, and all of those other important people/things took all of our "free" time. The author does a great job selecting projects near & dear to a mom's heart, providing a detailed supply list, a timeline and the inspiration to get us focused and moving towards our artistic goals. Shona Cole deserves much credit for such an inspiring, well-thought-out book.

    Capture the Family!

The Artistic Mother deals with many different ways to create scrapbooks and scrapbook pages to document key events in the life of a family member. The book is unique in that it DOES focus on family, upon ways to write little vignettes about family stories and creative ways to intertwine photographs and artifacts upon a page. It goes beyond the average and is a good one to have in your scrapbooking library. Now I just need the time to make all of the pages that I want to make!

Give In To Your Inner Artist

The book~ The Artistic Mother by Shona Cole~ is a beautiful and inspiring book. If you've been needing "permission" to explore your creative side, this is the book for you.
The pictures are gorgeous and the projects are so fun and adorable that you'll want to do each and every one. There are such unique ways to save mementos from your children and to display their work along with yours, that you'll all be inspired.
I love the layout. It's designed for you to do a different project each week over twelve weeks. It's wonderful for mothers because it is organized in such a way that you know exactly what you should do each day to finish the project in a week.
There's also a challenge each week and in that section, the author encourages you to stretch your artistic mind. Each exercise helps prepare you for the week's artwork.
Reading this book not only helped me created beautiful things, but it opened my mind up to my creative abilities and gave me tons of ideas for new projects.
