A superb addition to the series
In this thrilling second volume of Robert Kirkman's "The Astounding Wolf-Man," Gary Hampton A.K.A. Wolf-Man is now on the run from the U.S. Government, framed for his wife's murder. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
This is a great comic overall, with dramatic visuals and compelling story that only falters with some very unrealistic too-comic-book-style events like giant one-eyed monsters rampaging through woods. This is an easily forgiveable flaw, though, and it doesn't even come close to ruining the entire book for you.
Author Robert Kirkman, the writer of "The Walking Dead" series, delivers an action-packed story filled with memorable and realistic character dialogue, while artist Jason Howard brings some awesome visuals and frenetically gory fight sequences. Along with all of this, there is a very interesting two-part crossover between Robert Kirkman's "Invincible" and the main storyline. This crossover is practically seamless overall and is told very well, although you may find yourself scratching your head a little if you haven't the "Invincible" series.
In addition, this volume is relatively shorter than Volume 1. Despite its length, it does manage to keep you craving more with the book's shocking cliffhanger ending and I personally guarantee you that you will be waiting in anticipation for Volume 3.
