Oh Liam. Not only do you have one of my favorite names, but you're emotional baggage, broken heart, and love for your mate
despite her rejection had me swooning throughout your story. I wanted to just hold him and tell him over and over that it would be
all better. And I'm not being dramatic. I'm being serious.

We learned about Liam and Ava, and their totally messed up relationship in The Awakening: Aidan. I knew going in this was going
to be an emotional roller-coaster and I was very anxious to find out just what the heck was going on with Ava. Why did she dsert
Liam? What made her push him away and throw him into the awful emotional state he had been in the first book, a state that was so
bad Aidan had to find a shifter therapist to get him out of it, or at the very least, get him through it?

Well, we find out all in this book. Strike that. We find out all about Liam and Ava in this book. We don't find out the answers to all my
questions (like what is up with Britton and Val?! I am so intrigued by those two!) but Liam and Ava, and their story, comes to a head,
and then a resolution that I was supremely happy about. There were also some seriously hot moments that not only kept the tension
going between the hero and heroine, but also increased the tension with the conflict. I, like Ava, never knew if the big baddie was
watching or not and that suspense added to the likeability of the book, for me.

What about the downsides? Well, there was one big one that had me slightly frustrated. The prolonged miscommunication on Ava's
part and her refusal to ask Liam for help or tell him what was going on, really grated on my nerves. Lack of communication is not one
of my fave romance novel tropes. Or at least, not when it's dragged on for a fair bit of the book. I understand that there had to be a
reason for Ava to have rejected Liam but I just feel like it went on for a bit too long. I was also disappointed to see Emma leave Ava's
house. I was hoping that Liam and she would have a scene, where he saw she had grown up and was doing better, as opposed to
when he and Ava had been together before and Emma had been rebelling like it was an Olympic sport.

One of the plus sides of this book is the introduction of additional secondary characters to this world. Like I mentioned earlier Britton
has me intrigued and I'd love to learn more about his story and why he is suffering a 20 year sentence. (I think it was hinted it, or
mentioned in passing. So I know why, I just don't know everything that happened. Britton had to have a reason right?!) Anyways, the
end of this book left me feeling satisfied about the state of Liam and Ava for the most part, and I did enjoy seeing Aidan and Jaylin
again. He intrigues me. Hopefully we see more of the secondary characters in the future though I'm not entirely certain if this series
will be continuing or not. *fingers crossed that it does*

All in all this was an enjoyable paranormal romance by an author with a strong voice and strong writing skills. I look forward to reading
more by this author!

*I received an ARC of this book from the Published in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.*

Today I was able to read The Awakening: Liam by Abby Niles. We all know I'm not very good at figuring out I'm in a middle of a series till it's too late. Hey that's how I roll (snickers to self). Fortunately, I wasn't too lost with this story.

So, The Awakening: Liam is about Liam Doyle who has marked his mate, but she has rejected him. WOW, tough break for him. Now he's doom to live in hell without the love of his life. Ava Michaels actually loves Liam, but had to sacrifice the relationship to save her sister. Sucks for her too. Since Liam is tied to Ava, he can feel most of her emotions. So, when she's in danger he can feel it and has the need to save her.

All right, so Ava and Liam ended getting capture by this madman and we don't find out the reason why until the end. However, he tortures the two through most of the book. Plus, Liam and Ava have a lot of issues that they just don't want to solve. Surprise, surprise communication would have saved a lot of problems in their relationship, but if they had communicated with one another the complication that made story wouldn't have been there. Therefore, there would not be story, so the lack of communication was kind of important to the story. At the same time drove me nuts.

I really felt bad for Liam, because he just seem like he was thrown into the pity of despair. Ava drove me nuts, because she just wasn't willing to talk to Liam and kept pushing him away. Overall, not a bad story, but I don't think it was for me. I like towards the end when they found out the madman twist plot to extract revenge on something Liam didn't have a clue what was going on. Basically, if you like stories with shifters finding their mates and finding a way to keep their mate, you might enjoy The Awakening: Liam.

This was the second book in The Awakening series. However, it is not necessary to read them in order. They are each their own complete stories. Also if you hold a grudge against a character, reading Aidan's story first might make it harder for you to like Ava in this one. I really had my doubts about her at the beginning based on the little I knew from book 1. But as you read her and Liam's story you get a very different perspective.

Liam is a broken soul, he has mated to a woman who has rejected him. As a result he cant shift and keeps getting lost in her emotions. He has a one way bond that returns nothing to him but pain and suffering. When he feels his mate die he cant help run to her. While distraught and distracted he is easily overcome and taken captive.

Ava had refused Liam when he tried to explain what he was to her. Her rejection has all but destroyed him. When she is drugged and taken captive, she has no idea what is going on. Only to find herself trapped with the one man she left behind and the one man she can never forget.

From the moment they are captured the story takes you on a roller coaster ride of danger and excitement. It is near impossible to wait to see what happens next. Who is this mysterious stranger that has kidnapped them? Will Ava tell Liam why she really left him? Will Liam survive her leaving again or will he even let her go? Can they overcome the odds stacked against them and be together forever the way they are meant too?

Once I started I could not stop reading and finished this book rather quickly. Both Liam and Ava are fascinating characters with such levels that really come out in this story. Watching them interact is pure enjoyment. You cant help but hope they can work it out to be together. As I said you do not have to read these in order, but once you read one you will have to read the other so be prepared! I am looking forward to more from this author as she creates a well developed world and intriguing characters.

The Awakening: Liam by Abby Niles got my attention right away with her dedication. I knew I would like the book if for no other reason than her sense of humor - "to Rum and Coke".. Even if those were her pet ferrets, I was in! Turns out the book was FANTASTIC. I didn't need her cutesy dedication, she had me at the first chapter.
I do not want to give any spoilers, but a tiny bit is needed to make the review right. It's a love story between two people who were torn apart by other outside forces. The bummer is only one side of the couple understands and makes that decision. The second party is undercut and crushed by the breakup.
These characters made me love them from the start - Liam is a strong, loving man who is trying to build his life. Ana is a caring woman who is trying to hold onto a sister who has gone through some tough decisions.
From the onset, you know their love is real and true. The series of events lead back to actions from years ago. I loved that part of the book - how every action in our lives leads us further down the path we walk. It's true for each characters back story and for their story together.
This author made me fall in love with Ana and Liam. I teared up, gasped, and got really big smiles as I read this. I stayed up all night to finish this one, did not even put it down once I started. I usually will drag a book out over a few nights, but not this one.
I am excited to read more by Abby. I want to see more into this world she has woven. by Karen Trail

Loved the book. It caught my attention as soon as I started reading it. I loved how it was a paranormal romance where one of the charcters turns into a lion. It helped that the hero, Liam, was the one who turned into a lion. It was a great book because it showed how true love could withstand anything.
I was very happy when Ava, Liam's mate, decided that she wasn't going to listen to the bad man anymore and help hurt Liam by not returning his love when she did love him. I know that she was trying to protect her sister from the bad guy but I thought that she needed to do something for herself.
Can't wait tp read more by Abby Niles. She was great!

This has been an amazing series so far! This book starts right off with so much action that there was no way for me to put it down. Liam and Ava's back story is explained in book one, as well as Liam's condition, which believe me will have your heart going out to him!! So I definitely recommend you start with it before jumping into this book, but if you do start with this one, I think you would be able to catch on with no problems! Liam, who has been rejected by his mate, can feel every emotion his mate has, but when he feels her death it just about breaks him. When he discovers, however, that she is not really dead, it brings out the beast in him. Literally!!! I think all their past aside, Liam and Ava were a perfect fit for each other, and the story line was beyond what I expected for Liam. I am fully vested in these characters and can't wait to see what else the author has in store for us. Will definitely be recommending this series to everyone I know! I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest review.

Now that's the way you start a book!!!
Liam and Ava's tale heart-wrenching, thrilling, hot and and awesome read!
    I loved this book!!!
Blurb: Shifter, Liam Doyle knows Hell. At least he believed he did. The night he feels his mate die, he learns how very wrong he was. Nothing he’d struggled with since Ava’s rejection compares to the emptiness that fills his soul by her death. Lost in his grief, he’s taken by surprise and drugged. When he wakes, everything changes. Nothing is what it seems, and someone is dead set on making him pay.
When Ava Michaels is taken captive, she’s thrust into a dark and terrifying world along with the man she was forced to leave behind. While being near Liam again is heartbreaking, the motive behind her kidnapping is gradually revealed. The more she learns, the more she worries Liam isn’t the man she believed him to be. He has enemies willing to do anything to extract their revenge. Can their love survive a crazy man’s vengeance?

This story was AMAZING! It had all the elements….. Love, hate, revenge, confusion and it was written in such a way that it kept you constantly on the edge of your seat. It’s an inspiration to know that no matter whom or what may try to keep us from our soul mates that if we continue to believe in that love nothing and no one can tear it apart. This story had a great underlying message of just how much we all are willing to sacrifice to keep those we love from harm in anyway shape or form. As well as how we will fight for love :) Plus you can't go wrong with a shifter story we all know they area bunch of crazy kooks just waiting to entertain :) ¿
