    Very useful

A language dictionary filled with succinct and up-to-date translations of a vast supply of Italian and English words both common and uncommon.

The Bantam New Colege Italian & English Dictionary: a practical and comprehensive aid for those learning or translating Italian.

I meet weekly with a group of peole who like to speak Italian. Some of us are more skilled than others. Most of us carry dictionaries to our meeting and consult them when we are "at a loss for words." There are as many different dictionaries at this class as there are people, but I have found that time after time my dictionary is the one with the necessary detail or the alternative meaning that we are looking for. Almost 20 pages at the front are dedicated to pronunciation, grammatical forms, and regular and irregular verb forms (so valuable when you are trying to write Italian yourself.) Unlike some dictionaries, this one has a comprehensive vocabulary, not just slang or phrases needed when you travel. It includes idioms as well, e.g., fare cenno di no (to shake one's head); fare cenno di si (to nod assent); intendere a volo (to catch on quickly). I first purchased this dictionary in 2003. When I lost it recently, I surveyed other dictionaries in the bookstores, and quickly came to the conclusion that this was the best and most useful of all of them.

    Good

It's a very good dictionary with good definitions. However, it is hard to find some words I have not used any other dictionaries like this so I do not know if they are any easier
