Rage Against the Machine: The Battle of Los Angeles

They've been called the Rolling Stones of their generation, and when you hear this album, you almost have to compare them to any great hard rock band in history. I love this album. Their mix of metal, funk and rap really ignites the musician in me. Buy this album, you will not be sorry.

One of the best hard rockers of this era

RATM is the pinnacle of vitriolic, no holding back music of the 90s. zach shouts, raps, and screams his fiery words against the government, while the incredible power of tom morello's guitar and that rest of the band back him up. This album is an unbelievable fusion of rap and rock. A must have for hard rockers wanting something more than the average nu metal.

    The Battles Rages on...

Good riffs again. Unfortunately, the level of some songs has disturbed by annnoying sound some songs have. The lyrics are good rebel stuff. "Testify", "Guerrilla Radio" and "Born of a Broken Man" are good 'killing' stuf. If you don't mind to use the word. But this album is almost equal with their first album. Only those sounds are annoying...

    Wow

I never was an all out rage fan, their music was always a little intimidating and it has very strong vibes. However this shouldn't stop anyone from going out and buying this cd.....there is awesome talent dispalyed on Battle of L.A. and all of their previous albums, don't miss it. The guys deserve a whole lot more credit then they are given.

The Battle of Los Angeles, Rage's Best?

After reading many reviews of The Battle of Los Angeles (BOLA), and from my personal listening I feel that this is not Rage's greatest work. Even though the band has focused the most energy into BOAL, they only spent a month recording in the studio, and it shows. Many of the songs are not enegetic, and it seems that the album does not transfer smoothly from track to track, but this is characterisic of Rage. But that should not keep you from buying this album. Yes it is a good, ok very good album but not their best. Their best work has past them and with Zack De La Roche (lead singer) going into the studio in New York to record a solo album it might appear that Rage is seing their end, but Tom Morello's (lead gituarist) gituar work still impresses me, Timmy C's (bass gituar) bass lines are still solid, and Brad Wilk (drummer) is starting to find is own style, the band is not yet quite finished. So buy BOLA and form your own opinion.
