    Great CD

Sail Away a song about how slaves thought they might get treated and Political Science a song everyone should listen to right now, about who everybody hates us so i guess we should just blow everybody up.

    Art and Soul

He tells a story like Bob Dylan, has the heart of John Lennon, the soul of Ray Charles, and the arranging skills of George Martin. Add to that humor, insight, grit, pain, and love. Be prepared for all of this and more when you listen to this marvelous complilation of work. Newman's singing style and lyrics are first to standout. Admittedly, new listeners, unless they're adventurous souls, will be stopped in their tracks. He is not the pop star type. But those lucky enough, or smart enough, to stick with it will be rewarded. In every song, Newman says something surprising and interesting. Similarly, the musical arrangements at times seem too ambitious, or even egregious. Other times they seem painfully simple. But in the end you'll realize that every note is just where it should be. And when you're infront of the CD player listening to those notes, you'll feel that you too are right where you should be.
