    I Also Recommend:

    Fantastic Read!

A roommate of mine in college gave this to me for a gift because I am such a fan of Roald Dahl's children's stories. I actually read the pages out of this book and had to replace it! I now work in a bookstore and have twice placed this on the staff reccomendations shelf and sold out every time. Customers always come back and tell me how surprised and entertained they were by this. The stories are long enough to captivate an adult audience, while short enough to feel as though you were listening to a long winded joke and the punch line made tears roll down your cheeks. The stories are fantastic again and again. Dahl's wit and wicked sense of humor teach you secrets about the human mind with characterizations reminiscent of Dorothy Parker. This will leave you wanting more; the best quality a true author can offer.

    Most superb reading

I recall listening to every word my English teacher read from his books when I was at school but never got back into his books until I completed all of Douglas Adams' fine novels. I started reading Terry Pratchet and realised that I had not read any Dahl since school days. I came across this book and can only rave about how good this book is.Short storieses are abundant and endings that leave you guessing and giggling. I certainly will be purchasing all his short stories in the near future.

    Short story master.

Dahl is probably most famous as a popular children's writer, and has a wonderful style of his own. However, he is also brilliant at writing short stories on a more adult level, and has a mean imagination. Although his interest is sometimes dark and off-colour, his stories are unquestionably spellbounding. This is a collection of his best short stories, each making a delightful 5-10 minutes read. It exhibits Dahl's superb skill as one of the best entertaining story-tellers in the late 20th century. Highly recommended!

And I Thought He Only Wrote Children's Stories

If O. Henry and Stephen King collaborated on a book of short stories, this book is what you might get. Truly creepy and wonderful stories.
