BACK UP, WEIRD AL...ITS SPIKE JONES TIME!
MUSIC LOVERS MAY GROAN, BUT IF SPIKE JONES AND THE CITY SLICKERS DON'T PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE WITH THE FIRST CUT "COCKTAILS FOR TWO", YOUR FUNNY BONE HAS BEEN DISLOCATED. THE WW2 CLASSIC "DER FUERHRERS FACE" IS WORTH THE PRICE OF ADMISSION, AND THE "DANCE OF THE HOURS" & "WILLIAM TELL OVERTURE" WILL REMIND ALL THAT MUSIC IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN AS WELL AS FUNNY! SPIKE MAY HAVE LEFT THE BUILDING BUT THE ANGELIC CHOIRS HAVE NOT BEEN THE SAME SINCE HE ARRIVED! RELOCATE YOUR FUNNYBONE AND ENJOY!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Spike Jones, the Wierd Al of the Big Band Era
If you like Wierd Al, or any other musical parodies, you will love Spike Jones. If you are at least 40, you will definitely remember some of his best works. I don't think I've met ten people who, when asked, had not heard of "In Der Furhrer's Face". He and his band were just about the craziest bunch of guys I had ever seen. They put on one great fun time of a performance. Don't miss this CD. It's great! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
