A little too much preaching of politics. Not enough participation of the animals.

I love to read books on my NOOK. What I do not love the cost of those books. It seems to me they should be a lot cheaper than a pu blished hardback. After all, you don't have the expense of printing all those pages and binding. Plus all the cost of handling them. And since I am paying for a hardback, I should be able to lend the Nook version to anyone I want to. My daughter, who is also an avid reader, and I have always traded books and both of us pass them on to my husband. We are afamily of book worms and most of the Nook books cannot be shared. that is a crock!

This was a noticeable change in tone for Ms. Brown and all of he

This was a noticeable change in tone for Ms. Brown and all of her characters. The animals are fighting all the time, and the people are downright 'snarky'. The plot is a good one. I do miss the horses in this series, but all the regulars are here. They're just all annoyed with each other all the time, which sets a stressful tone to everything. I do hope RMB gets her sense of humor back in time for the next one.

Charming, interesting bits but slow paced

I enjoyed the bits about farm life, farm equipment and autos. The author's descriptions were interesting and informative. The relationships described among friends was gratifying. Harry's pets were a charming addition. Their conversations with each other were annoying at first but grew on me somewhat. I generally enjoy a much faster paced book but worth the read if you like to immerse yourself in small town life.

    Shadow

She curled up against a stump and let her mind wander.

    Tearpaw

"Hello?" She mews, padding in. "Sorry for not being on. My NOOK got broken, but everything is fine now."

    Recommend very much

Harry was just a very common person with a highly curious mind like her cats and dog that traveled with her. You were able to keep up with her way of thinking and it was entertaining. I look forward to reading another book by Ms. Brown.

    sorta recommended

Ms Brown spends too much time on "the stump" championing her causes, political and moral. But it takes up space and adds to the number of pages in the book.

Would recommend, just not the best in this series

Would recommend if you have enjoyed this series before, however, very slow pace, but a pleasant and quick read.
