Nine Reasons Why the 2011 Bill James Handbook is a Must

    1. Projections - Last season the Handbook projected Braves' rookie Jason Heyward would hit 27 doubles, 5 triples, 17 home runs and knock in 78 runs. The Handbook missed by 2 doubles, 1 home run and 6 RBI. In 2011, the Braves are hoping the Handbook's 2011 projection on Freddie Freeman will be just as accurate 2. Fielding Statistics - The Handbook's fielding statistics section is awesome. Who Save the Most Runs on Defense in 2010? The Handbook informs us it is Cardinals' shortstop, Brendan Ryan. 3- Win Shares - You know I love Win Shares. I used them in my book TRADED. Who had the most Win Shares in baseball in 2010? The Handbook informs us it was Adrian Gonzalez. 4-Ballpark Factors - Which ballpark, is the best pitcher's park in major league baseball over the last three seasons? The Handbook informs us that it is PETCO Park in San Diego. 5-Pronunciations - How do you pronounce Jhouys Chacin? The Handbook informs us. 6-Base Running - There is a great listing of 38 base running facts in the Handbook. Who was the best base runner in 2010? The Handbook informs us it was Juan Pierre. 7-Hall of Fame Monitor - Who is all ready a lock for the Hall of Fame? The Handbook informs us. The Handbook informs us that there are 16 players who are presently locks for the Hall of Fame. (Note: I will be post an article on this subject at MLB Expert Analysis in the near future) 8- Career Targets - Which active pitcher has the best chance of winning 300 games in his career? The Handbook informs us it is Roy Halladay with a 42 percent chance. 9-Other Info - 2010 Leader Boards, Lefty/Right Splits, Hitting Stats for Pitchers, Manager's Stats, Bullpen Stats, Instant Replay Stats, Manufactured Runs and more.
