When I first started reading this book, I was worried that it would be hard to follow since it was part of a series. I am happy to say that I was able to enjoy this book without having read the others. I am sure the characters in the book are from the previous books, but the story wasn't lost due to the fact that I haven't read the previous stories (but I have loved the book so much that I plan to start from the beginning!)
The story deals with a CIA operative who has to trust the word of a woman who basically "falls into his lap" and tells him that she has information of national security. This woman turns out to be a beautiful Russian princess, Anya, who has gone through a lot of tragedy and is trying to find the truth and her family. She feels like she has no one to turn to except this CIA agent, Ryan. They have to learn to trust each other in order to survive their time in the Kremlin Palace.
The story built up suspense from the time you start the story. The love in this story was sincere. And it was only after they gained each other's trust. It made me love the story and want to keep reading it.

Fifteen years ago, Anya Radzoya fled Russia with her grandmother after the suspicious deaths of her parents, but she can’t escape the royal genes that make her one of Russia’s last living princesses. When President Ivanov blackmails her into returning to Moscow in exchange for her grandmother’s life, Anya discovers he’s planning to unleash a nuclear war. With no one else to turn to, she joins forces with CIA operative Ryan Smith.
Undercover at the nuclear summit, Ryan recruits Anya to find proof Ivanov is resurrecting the Cold War, but he suspects his new asset is a double agent. Anya is determined to rescue her grandmother with or without his help, however, and Ryan finds himself falling for the beautiful princess before he even trusts her.
Trapped inside the Kremlin with a cunning and ruthless opponent, the two must risk their lives and their hearts to save Anya’s grandmother as well as millions of innocent people.
As a child/teenager during the bulk of the "cold war", this novel really hit a nerve for me. I absolutely loved the kick-butt heroine, Anya Radzoya, and the equally adept, and hunky hero, Ryan Smith. Their growing attraction crept up on me, culminating in a very satisfying love scene close to the end of the book. The story progression of the suspense/intrigue is very well paced with just enough doubt in the truth to keep you reading. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a good spy story with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure.

Wow, another one to add to my “lose sleep over” list! If you can’t handle nail biting suspense and driving yourself nuts by not being able to put it down and do normal things like house work (bleh) then you can’t handle this book. So worth the dirty house I acquired while reading. Kids need to eat? Throw some cookies in their direction and keep reading! I will neither confirm nor deny I did that. This book will hold your attention like a train wreck unfolding before your eyes. The author throws out the teaser hints to secrets that keep you hanging on just to know why it’s all happening. The action keeps up but not overwhelmingly where you can’t keep it all straight. I felt I WAS Anya, grossed out by the Russian President’s advances! You can’t help but fall in love with Ryan, an honest and loyal heartthrob. Aren’t spies always intriguing and handsome? Don’t take my word for it – read the book and get hooked yourself! HIGHLY recommended. No really, I dare you to read it and NOT get involved. Just don’t blame your undone housework and hungry kids on me.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Within the Grand Kremlin Palace many secrets are revealed that will change the future of Anya and Smitty. Misty Evans has written a tale filled with intrigue, danger and romance. Anya is a memorable heroine who is willing to put her life on the line for those she loves. She and Ryan are a perfect match. Who wouldn't love a strong, honorable man who treats his love with caring and tenderness. This is a compelling story that contains many surprises. A perfect summer escape. Was this review helpful? I've been a long-time fan of this series and with each book I say it's my favorite. I'm saying it again! Michael Stone has always been my favorite hero but Ryan has quite possibly dethroned him. Ryan has all the qualities of an alpha hero, but there's a gentleness to him that drew me in. The heroine in this book is a real-life princess trying to locate her kidnapped grandmother which only adds to the excitement of the international intrigue. Anya is strong and capable and stops at nothing to save her grandmother. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
The sexual tension between Ryan and Anya is obvious from the start. Throw in the international intrigue and this is a romantic suspense that shouldn't be missed.

Love, love, love this series. Sometimes when I love a series so much it is hard to write a review for just one of the books because the characters all blend together for me in one long story. The Super Agent series is loosely linked together based on characters and their jobs, but all the stories are very different and Misty writes in a way that you can read them independently and still enjoy them. I love the characters, the dialogue, the action and romance. There are no wasted words on the pages, so you need to pay attention to them all. I have a thing about the CIA and FBI and really enjoy these types of stories. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
The Blood Code is engaging from the beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until the last page when all was tied together for a fantastic ending. In this story, we watch Ryan try to rescue Anya and the world from a Hitler-wannabe, Russian President Ivanov. What starts out as training young CIA field operatives and a little asset recruiting turns into stopping a potential nuclear war. In The Blood Code things go wrong. Ryan isn’t always able to save Anya and things get messy. Misty is great at writing suspense because with her stories you never really know what is going to come next.
The Kremlin Palace sounds like such a neat place (when President Ivanov isn’t in it of course). I felt like I was actually there based on the descriptions in the book. I had no problem visualizing what was happening in the book. From the clothes to the food to the secret passageways.
The characters of both Ryan and Anya were well written. Anya was not a “princess” in the typical sense. She was tough as nails (one of the things Ryan loves about her) and wants no one waiting on her. She was raised to be very independent. However, now, her grandmother has been kidnapped, she has to play the part of the Russian Princess that she doesn’t want to be, she is held hostage by Ivanov, and she has to keep her feelings for Ryan to herself to protect them all. She is definitely spy material with the risks she takes and I was worried she was going to be caught more times than she actually did. My heart was always beating fast when she was on the move!
Ryan has his own issues to deal with and it was nice seeing him out of sorts and risking his job and the life that he knows for Anya. He gets himself into more trouble than I would have expected from him based on his character in other books. We saw him a lot in Operation Sheba helping out Conrad but he seemed more in control then. Probably because he didn’t have a fascinating princess distracting him at the time.
The romance in this book is light. There aren’t any scorching hot love scenes but the sweet love scene in this one is so appropriate for the story with Anya and Ryan. The romance is sprinkled throughout the story and a little heavier on the suspense. I think it is a great balance to this specific story and it is also a little more believable. If you are looking for a solid, engaging romantic suspense book that is part of a series I would personally love to see made into a movie, I highly recommend you try The Blood Code.

The very best in romantic suspense. Although this is part of a series it can be read stand-alone. Non-stop action and intrigue. I was bowled over by the mystery and loved the chemistry between Ryan and Anya. Twists and turns, good guys and bad, a love story in a foreign land what more could you ask for?Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
