the epitome of 20th century poetry
no one can say that he/she understands 20th century poetry or poetry in general without some touching on the talent who was ezra pound. yes, his politics and beliefs are questionable, but never to be questioned is the brilliance of the man as well as his effect on modern poetry. this said however, i have yet to complete this book because of this man's density of thought. the best way to read this book is to get one of the many books that help explain these complex poems. another way is to start by reading sections, which i would start with the pisan cantos, written while incarcerated in pisan italy. also read it like poetry was meant to be read: out loud. this book once you have read even part of it will enlighten you in so many ways. Was this review helpful?
