Amberpelt, a mated she cat warrior, was laying down in the med cat's den. Her mate, Tornadostar, leader of Saberclan, was passing in quickly. "I don't know how much longer I can take of this!!" She screams. She pushes and lets out a yelp. A kit was then lying there, bawling its head off. "I'm so poud of you Amberpelt," said Tornadostar. Amberpelt then leaped to her paws and picked the kit up by its scruff. She ran through horrendous blizzards and raging thunderstoms. She finally made it, with the kit in one pice, to the territory entrence. Amberpelt set the kit down. "Don't worry kit. I know Timeclan will take you in. Im sorry but... but... The Cat, by Edeet Ravel. This book broke my heart in a million

    The Cat, by Edeet Ravel.

This book broke my heart in a million pieces and I could not stop reading until I knew what would happen to Elise. That a writer can convey so much pain and empathy in such a short book is amazing. I felt her every joy, loss, fear and angered emotion while she was forced to deal with living in a world that changed forever in one quick and senseless act. I had to know, could she survive and how she could ever regain a sense of normalcy again. Very well written. Very concise. Extremely absorbing. I will remember this book for a long time to come.
