I loved this book, great story line. Can't wait until the next

I loved this book, great story line. Can't wait until the next one. I could tell the author's son was involved with the writing by the sudden use of the 'F' word by a couple of the charactors. Closer to real life maybe but still....

This is the eighth book in the Dixie Hemingway Cat Sitter series

This is the eighth book in the Dixie Hemingway Cat Sitter series. I have not read any of the early books but that did not spoil my enjoyment of this one. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I now want to read the first seven books.

The book had me hooked from the first couple of pages with the discovery of both an exotic bird and a young woman who had just given birth on a walking path near Dixie’s home. Dixie is a former cop turned pet sitter. Her job brings her in contact with many interesting people in the town of Siesta Key, Florida in the Florida Keys. In this book a new client ends up dead, the young woman and her baby disappear, and a young man leaves a mysterious message on Dixie's answering machine. Dixie investigates while taking care of her animal clients and trying to decide what do about her love life. The plot twists and turns kept me up reading late because I had to find out what happened.

This is a perfect book for people who love animals and mysteries. It is well written with likeable characters. It is a great book to escape into. Disclosure: I received this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway on the premise that I would review it.

As Shadowcat left, however, he said to himself quietly "I hope that it will be foxes alone, and not yourself, I defend the clan from.". He then padded out after her.

Enjoyed as much as the previous. Glad we will be able to continue with Dixie's escapades. I live up the road near Tampa and love books about my neighborhood.

I have enjoyed the series for years. I am glad that John Clement has decided to continue the series in the honor of his mom. I look forward to more books about Dixie and her adventures.

Dixie Hemingway is one of my favorite characters.  When I heard

Dixie Hemingway is one of my favorite characters.  When I heard that Blaize Clement had passed I mourned for her as well as Dixie.  This newest addition to the series shows that Dixie is alive and well, I hope that Baize’s son John keeps her story going in additional books.  If you haven’t read any Dixie’s books I recommend you start will the first “Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter”.  Dixie is a character that you will want to call a friend and she is brought to life in an engaging way.

Not up to her usual work I thought

I have looked forward and completely enjoyed her books in this series. However I was quite disappointed in her last book. In the past it was always relaxing reading and enjoyable reading. However your last book was not up to par I thought and the quality of her work was ruined because of a couple of words that were in this book but not in any of the others. Not too sure i will read her next book
