A welcome addition to my PC, with limitations

First of all, your computer will need a DVD-ROM--if yours doesn't have one, you're out of luck. I'm a big fan of the old movie reviews in the 'Current Cinema' section, but was dismayed to find that you cannot come across a particular movie by typing its name under 'search' in the search archive section. You have to first find out the year of the movie and go through the contents of each issue for that particular year. The viewer will take up a lot of space on your monitor's screen--reset your settings to 1024 x 748 pixels to overcome this. That said, a fun time can be had reading old articles by Woody Allen, viewing the cigarette ads (one features a baby!) and don't get me started on the cartoons--hilarious, still. I even came across a 1963 article in which my father's name was mentioned in passing!

    Magzine Fun!

If you like to look at the past this is a set to purchase. I've been having fun looking at allot of the older New Yorker magazines just to read the ads but the articles are still fresh and ring true today as they were back then.

    All You'd Want For Christmas

The best item in the bookstores this Christmas. I even came close to throwing out my old New Yorkers but reconsidered at the last minute.
