Speech contains power. Few have been born with the ability to wield its power as effectively as G.K.C. He addresses the use and abuse of language in law, politics, health & sickness, buying & selling. For example, he shows that a modern approach to a text may be to take it apart until it says less and less. Left with many broken pieces that no longer fit together, we have been cut off from the author's meaning. Such is the state of modern thinking, he contends. And, he said, "It is difficult to believe that people who are obviously careless about language can really be very careful about anything else." As the golf professional teaches the elements of a swing that tames the game of golf, so swinging with G.K.C.'s arguments leads to clearer thinking and being understood. Isn't that the goal of language? Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
