    I Also Recommend:

    Friel the Real Deal

Joe Friel is one of the leading cycling coaches in the country. This is a thorough, comprehensive, well-written text geared towards the cyclist who aspires to racing (or at least very high-performance recreational riding and fitness), or is currently racing. Quite current, covering newer aspects of training for cyclists including use of power meters.

The cover photo is unfortunate, but don't let this put you off.

If you want to win, follow this plan.

Looking for a way to build a cohesive plan between cycling and gym training, I knew there was a way other than just riding hard all the time. This is it. Following a carefully laid plan of anotomical adoptation, strength training, power training, muscular endurance, while at the same time following specific riding goals in Base 1, 2, 3, build 1, 2, and Peak, I was able to significantly reduce my lacatate threshold levels, lower my working heart rate, and do really well in races. Everyone that asks me how I improved last year, gets the speech: BUY and FOLLOW this book!
