    A Great Fun Funny Mystery

You'll enjoy this humerous romp in small town Maine with some unusual characters. I'm looking forward to the sequel.

    One Dam fine book

The Dam Committee is one Dam fine book. The characters could live in any small Maine town and be right at home. They are hostile at times but cooperative when necessary. If you've lived in one of these small towns you can identify each and every one. The ending seems to have been left open for a sequel, and I am looking forward to it.

Buy this book! You'll be glad you did.

This is a wicked good read. For someone with the attention span and focus of a brick, I had no problem concentrating and enjoying every page. Great book. Lots of stuff going on all the time, fun and interesting...not a bog down in the whole book. As they say, it's a page turner.

Highly recommended - a fun read.

A little bit of ¿On Golden Pond¿ and a lot of ¿Murder, She Wrote,¿ this humorous, mystery novel has characters you'll love and recognize if you've ever spent time in a small Maine village whose pristine lakes attract ¿the summer complaint.¿ There's murder, poignancy, and witty conversation with just enough double entendre and sexual inuendo to spice things up a bit. Winston, the golden retriever, gets the plot rolling when he digs in the snow uncovering a suitcase containing half a million dollars. Suspects abound, either of having shot ¿Doc,¿ the drug dealer, or of harboring the money for which it is assumed he was killed. Plot twists and several secondary story lines will keep you reading...and laughing. A thoroughly enjoyable read and a great holiday gift.

Just in time for the holidays

A hallmark of a good book is the disappointment that accompanies the satisfaction of finishing it. I will miss my evening escapades with the colorful characters of this small town. I hope Smith is working on a second book as I write this.

    Terrific Fun!

Earl Smith¿s, ¿The Dam Committee¿, contains a cast of characters that are delightfully humorous, real and believable. The small town Maine setting provides the reader with a unique perspective of a New England community¿s naive honesty as it attempts to make the best out of a bad situation. The book is an easy read and hard to put down.

    Highly Recommended

Earl Smith has put together a great book. It is funny, factual, a mystery, and a great read. Mr. Smith knows small town Maine and all the characters who live there. The bad guys get caught, and the good guys live happily ever after - just as it should be. I couldn't put it down.
