Th Real Darwin
First, the sub-title can be quite misleading. This is by no means a full blown attack on Darwin or his character. Much of the book is devoted to praising not only his compassionate character, intelligence, committment to science and other virtues. It is also not an attack on evolution. It does question his honesty in matters of priority and also the emphasis on evolution as a materialistic process. The book is well written an flows evenly. The research is quite strong and brings to light many aspects of the man. It also assumes that the standard account of Darwin vs. Alfred Wallace is true. There is in fact no mention of Roy Davies book The Darwin Conspiracy, a book that makes a very strong case for a more contoversial conclusion.
