    I Also Recommend:

    Disappointing Collection

I greatly anticipated this book as I enjoy watching all of the Deen's on television and they come up with some clever recipes but this book was an extreme disappointment. The quality of the pictures, layout, paper is excellent but the recipes are many times so simplistic that it is almost insulting to suggest an every day cook couldn't think of it on their own. Giving the benefit of the doubt, this may be good for beginning cooks who have never had a spoon in their hand but if you have any experience at all, wait for this to be on a yard sale before purchasing. You will have a traveling experience - which is the impression I got after looking through it page by page twice. The thought that came to me was, "these fellas needed an excuse to write off their travels". I look forward to better cookbooks from them forthcoming.

One of my favorite new cookbooks

I love Paul Deen, and thought this book looked fun - and I was right! This has actually become a coffee table book for me, because of the gorgeous illustrations and photos, fun stories, and of course delicious recipes. I read it from cover to cover when I bought it! I highly recommend this one, especially if you are a cookbook junkie like me!

    Deen Bros.

Essentially it's a cookbook featuring recipes from many restaurants around the country, which they've adapted. (Why can't I get a job like this?) It's divided into The South, The West, The Midwest, and The East. (I'll do everything in between!) The boys (I hope they don't mind being called that) start off in Key West, in particular at the Conch Republic Seafood Company. You can see my complete review on my non-fiction book review website. Yahoo! search using keyword PettProjects.
