    Interesting and well written

This book is full of interesting information, and very well written. Lives up to the premise of its fun, clever title. If you aren't careful, you will come away with new knowlegde to enliven your cocktail hours!

Rare find, full of information, if you are a liquor afficianado this is a must

So much information of all liquors you will be dizzy before getting through just one of your favorite liquor types. Even has a few recipes. Absolutely beautiful book in person... much more shockingly nice to hold than the picture shows.. Still compact for a hardcover but very comfortable to hold.

A handsome addition to my illustrious book collection that i would never have been satisfied without

This is one of the most fascinating books I've read in a long ti

This is one of the most fascinating books I've read in a long time! It's extremely readable and humorous yet it is very detailed. I learned an amazing amount of information from what malting is through various distillation and fermentation processes to how various liqueurs are flavored. She tells how you can achieve the same results via home brewing, but her "don't try this at home" admonishments related to some ingredients made me laugh. I occasionally wondered why anyone would use some of the ingredients. Ms. Stewart doesn't just tell about the modern processes for producing drinkable alcohol but also gives a history of the processes for various alcoholic beverages. I will have to read this again, probably multiple times.

Was not readable on my Nook...

I guess the book is pretty good. BUT it was not readable on my Nook HD. The text size was too small for me and was not adjustable. This is apparently a problem at the publisher's end. If this ever gets sorted, I will be happy to try it again.
I have asked my local library to get a copy of the book for me.

Great book, poorly translated to nook format

I am really enjoying this book. However, would recommend buying the print edition. The nook version won't allow the font size to change & is tiny to begin with.

A must have for people who are into alcoholic beverages in a hobby and cuisine type of life.

This book is informative and interesting. The really intense data supplied with each and every plant that is used in making alcoholic beverages shows that the author has done extensive research. When one lists the various types of a liquor or give data on what brewers use that plant or alcohol derived from that plant or how the plant is used in flavoring alcoholic brews, it simply demonstrates the quite complete investigation of the author into the fermentation process. An added bonus to the book was the inclusion of several recipes using the describe plant. A must have for wine drinkers and others who imbibe on various libations. 5 stars out of 5 here.
