Amelia, although a strong woman, is faced with a desperate and heartbreaking situation. She turns to the one person whom she trusts implicitly for help and hopes that he will listen to her appeal and free her from her plight before she is trapped in a loveless and possibly abusive marriage forever.

This story is set in a time when women had little say about whom they married. They were seen more as bargaining tools and artifacts to insure ones rise insure ones rise in society and wealth. A time when merging families was seen as a wise move, never caring whether the men and women loved one another.

My heart soared when I learned of Spencer's true feelings, as will yours. If asked what one thing stuck with me after reading this story, it would be never underestimate the friendship which has developed slowly over the years when one's heart is concerned.

I look forward to reading more of Ms. Conner's work.

Cute, but way too short. Had I known the page count...11 pages...I would not have paid for it.

Not a book - more like a poorly written class paper.

The story is over after the first couple of pages. Of course, the whole thing is only a few pages long. Don' t waste your money.

    DO NOT RECOMMEND

It's a Waste of time as little a time it may take to read it.

In good conscience; I cannot recommend.

Never got to the starting Line

This is potentially a great story, however, it is only 15 pages long. Shame on you guys calling this a story. In my business, we call this an idea.

    Awful

Thirty pages of nondescriptive writting. IF the writter was given a word cap..it worked. It capped my attention and did not keep my interest. It DOES read like a 12 year old wrote it. No continuity.

    Terrible

I paid for this on my nook and it was only 11 pages! It seemed as if was written by a 12 year old - I feel like I got ripped off. I can't even submit this review without giving a star rating - so ignore the 1 star I gave this.

    don't waste your money!!

11 pages long, unfinished story. I would like to know why she didn't make it a full book.
