After reading "The Elegant Process" thoroughly in under 2 hours, I was left to wonder where a book like this has been all my life. If you seek a simple, easy to understand primer on process improvement, this is the book you need. For those of us working in process improvement with all of it's associated lingo, "The Elegant Process" is a breath of fresh air. With its practical real-life examples, most readers could effectively initiate an improvement effort almost immediately. Mr. Kilgore explains process improvement "elegantly" in that neither buzz words and phases are used nor are lengthy, complicated explanations that leave many PI participants running for the nearest door. Instead, through every day situations ranging from going to the grocery store to making home improvements, the author informs and educates by offering the reader easily understood examples. For those of us challenged to help individuals closest to the work make real and lasting improvements, this is a welcome addition to the literature that should be a pre-requisite to any improvement effort.

This book crosses the boundary (is there really one?) between the business community and our individual lives as the steps, processe, and recommendations can be implemented in business and real life.
