This is an amazing debut novel from Elizabeth L. Silver. The relationship between the convicted murder Noa and the victim's mother Marlene is a fantastic voyage of words. I highly recommend this book.

    Eh...

It is pretty obvious that Elizabeth L. Silver wanted to impress with her debut novel about a woman, Noa P. Singleton, who is on Death Row & the story that brought her there. Unfortunately, Noa is rather unlikeable--as are most of the characters--& Silver comes off as a bit pretentious; did she have to use the thesaurus every other word to describe this & that? And although smart sounding, I was only looking for a beach read, not a legal course, or trial summary, or jackass characters.

    SilverThroat's Call: Shocking Cruelty for a Start('PG-13')

If you found this, hope you enjoy! This is just based off of Silverthroat's backstory.Next @"Silver throat call" res 2.She's a shecat I rp in Bloodclan with a hatred for forcematers. Here's her naming...I just mention mating once and briefly using no 'mating words'.Any suggestions, tell me.))
Silverpaw skimmed the ground of the fresh-frozen second frost under the cold full moon and Silverpelt, her own silver tabby legs gliding effortlessly. She was born on the first snow of leaf-fall,almost 12 moons ago, and ready to be a warrior. Her clan was tough that way,but long-lived.She gripped a snow-white hare in her jaws. As she entered the camp, all eyes stared at her in anticipation as she padded through a line of cats proudly.
"For our ceremony I got a rab-" She noticed some of the cats were padding out of the entrance-quickly. Moonstar wasn't at her usual perch-she dropped the rabbit and her jaw. There was her mother in the center of the camp-and a group of toms approaching her! She muffled a gasp as she saw the cat in lead.
Stepping forward, she witnessed a stream of shecats, kits and a few toms fleeing the camp. The tom was Moonstar's deputy, Clawmew! The ring of toms drew around her now, noticing her as some leered. She caught the sight of her leader running out with the rest of the clan in front of her.Steelwhisker,Bloodpaw,Beechear,Chillpelt, and many other toms crowded her.Clashfang,a tom close to her age, stood awkwardly to the side.Almost outside of the ring, her friend Dustpaw, a mottled brown shecat, hesitated. All of their family and friends had fled.Silverpaw mouthed *Go!*.With a flick of his tail, Clawmew allowed her friend to run to the entrance.
A shove on her flank pushed her into the center, and moved her attention with it. Her gaze drew itself to her mother. Clawmew yowled and all the toms' eyes looked at him.
"This is now MY clan!I am now your leader,Furystar!Meet your new deputy,Bonescream!" Toms hissed approval at the white big-boned cat with a lean frame behind her. "To start your rank in the Terror Tom group, you all need a mate," leered the red and black huge tom, stepping down into the center. Her mother shivered and mewed in protest. "Ah, THIS blue beauty will do for one!I need another shecat to show toms' SUPERIORITY, but I don't think we have one yet.Anyone know one?" Furystar sneered in a half nice tone. A tom threw Milkkit,a slow white shekitten, into the clearing.Bloodpaw glanced at her."Kill her to recieve your warrior name!" The kit wailed in protest."No!Mommy?!" Silverpaw yowled in protest and horror-"N-nooooo!" Bloodpaw silenced the kit, watching her blood flood her white pelt, stepping over the body. Falsepolitely, Furystar mewed, "Now,lady, let us be civil, don't disturb noble Bloodstorm again..."
"Your new mate,ma'am!"he said to the blue shecat, and sat on her belly. Furystar mated the shecat. She groaned. Silverthroat screamed in disbelief-"N-NOOOO!!!!!!!!Mother!" Furystar purred, and said nothing as the shecat mewed "I'm fine!Don't worry."
Calmly, she watched Bonescream approach her side."MY new mate, pretty Silverpaw!"he mewed. Silverpaw shuddered, but stared defiantly at him, as Stoneheart pushed her down.Silverpaw slashed Stoneheart's throat."I am SilverTHROAT!"Bone gazed shocked, and She dashed out into the woods, carrying Milkkit's body softly. MercilessClan headed to a new camp.
((Not a mating story but a revenge saga. Review and watch for her jury's revenge on this cruel group!-Em

I don't really know what to say about this book. It was OK, but there was so much opportunity for it to be so much better. The title of the book pretty much tells you what you need to know, but story for how Noa got on death row had SO MUCH potential, and it was pretty much a let down. There were so many opportunities for twists and turns that the author did not maximize on.

I finished the book, so there was definitely some element there that kept me interested, but all in all, I wouldn't really recommend this book.
