A Refreshing, Fun New Direction For Norah!

One of my lady friends bought this CD the other day and we listened to it together the other night. Norah has taken a little bit more of a new turn in this new album, with a bit more of a popish jazz sound, but it is still Norah, and this new album is somewhat bouncy & rather fun actually. It's a nice listen for just kicking back on a quiet, cold winter evening, either by yourself, with friends, or with a significant other. The last track on the album, Man of the Hour, is cool. It's dedicated to her dog(s). It's a fun song. The whole album is fun, and a refreshing new edge for Norah Jones. If you like a nice, laid back, relaxing listen, definitely check this album out. It's good! For fun: Listen to anything Norah Jones around your dogs and see how they react. I don't know what it is, but they just simply seem to flock to the sound of it. It must be good. At least, that's what I've seen with most of the dogs I have seen listening to Norah. They love it.

    Still Norah

A bit of a different sound/style but Norahs personality is still prevelant. Definitely a more somber mood on this album but if you are a fan I would recommend it.

FALL, is the best since her first in my humble opinion.

I was so surprised at how much I liked this recording. Norah Jones is indeed talented and skilled; but here she gives us intimacy as well. Beautiful work.

    Very Norah

A welcome change with Norah playing a lot more guitar. Same soothing qualities as previous albums, but still so different. I will be seeing her in concert soon.

    Great album

A great album by a talented artist. Love the whole album, but my favorites are Chasing Pirates, You've Ruined Me, and Young Bloods.

    Miss Jones

I adore Norah's creative style, but this album is not my most favorite. In being creative she takes risks on playing with new sounds that sometimes for me can come across as trying too hard. Maybe it's just my love for the album that has the songs "sunrise" "come away" and "don't know why." It has a subtle heatfelt quality performance and is down to earth. Whereas this album is a little more soulful with a side of blues sadness. I always enjoy Norah's music, this one just isn't my favorite.
