This has to be one of the best and most profound books I have ever read. It opened my eyes to see the reality of heaven, angels, and what happens in the unseen spiritual world. Excellent book--a must read.

interesting look at THE FALL OF LUCIFER

After Yehovah, there is the great trio regents of the almighty. Lucifer the eldest is the favorite as the light bearer viceroy Michael is the mightiest warrior and general of the angel army and Gabriel the youngest recently has arisen to their level as the revelator. Heaven has been harmonious for eternity until the announcement by Yehovah. He is creating a new race not of angelic matter, but from a DNA coding in his image. None of the angelic horde feels comfortable with the pronouncement, but of the lead threesome, only Lucifer feels betrayed by his heavenly Father. Michael and Gabriel do not understand the rationale behind God¿s decision, but remain true and loyal as they assume that there are things even they as his immediate lieutenants cannot understand. When Yehovah ignores his plea not create such an abomination, an ouraged Lucifer revolts. Yehovah punishes him by sending him to live on earth with his new species. However, instead of moping, Lucifer as Satan plans to destroy the heavenly monstrosity. --- This is an interesting look at THE FALL OF LUCIFER in which the description especially of pre-human heaven is vivid and deep. Lucifer as the title character is fully developed so that when Yehovah announces the new non-angelic species, his anger and disappointment is palatable and remains at that level even after he loses the heavenly battles and becomes exiled rage keeps him going. Although Yehovah, Michael, Gabriel, and the rest of heaven seem underdeveloped especially next to the emotional three dimensional Lucifer, with a nod to Milton¿s PARADISE LOST Wendy Alec provides an interesting tale of how the human genome¿s Godly creation provoked a heavenly war. --- Harriet Klausner

the book was wonderful! i loved it!..unfortunately i havent been able to locate the second book. But I highly reccommend this book nonetheless!!!

Wow! What a book!

I originally ordered this book for a friend and when it arrived I couldn't wait to read it myself. Needless to say I ordered one for myself and read it in a matter of days. I would have never put this book down if I didn't have to go to work or college.

Fall of Lucifer

i thoroughly enjoyed this one and cant wait for the sequel. The reasoning behind lucifers rebellion is plausible and the consternation of gabriel and michael is tremendously realistic. The imagery of heaven is brought home with some beatiful writing. Why only four stars? well i had just read lucifer wars by stuart vowell and the battle scenes in this outshine anything in the genre. if wendy could soup up the battles in her book to the blood drenched quality of lucifer wars then she would be getting the five star treatment from me. really good stuff keep them coming.

loved it

Wendy Alec takes us on a wonderous journey through heaven and we see the epic struggle of good vs evil. Not as blood drenched as counterparts such as Lucifer Wars by Stuart Vowell, but still a thoroughly enjoyable read. If you like to read books that force you to adopt a different perspective than the widley held religious beleifs then you will love this one. Tremendous stuff, cant wait for the next in the trilogy.

Wow! What a story

Where to start - I could not put this book down. Lucifer - the favored one - angelic leader of worship in Heaven before Yehovah - and his fall from Heaven. All this over God's decision to create man in His own image and walk in fellowship with man. The imagery is gripping, and the story of three angel brothers - Lucifer, Michael and Gabriel - is poignant and stirring. This is the first of a trilogy and I cannot wait for the next two books!

What a book

The first book I got was the second on for christmas from my step mom so I had to get the first The Fall of Lucifer. I started to read it and I was amazed on what I was reading, I mean I wasn't sure what kind of book it was going to be but I was willing to see. I know that it is a fiction book, but I like that she has used her base information on the bible, I really enjoy reading how she thinks it happened or came about. When reading this book you have to remember that it is fiction and not a book based on fact, because I know there will be people out there that will down this book because they will be thinking it is some kind of testimony of how it happened and it's not, it's just a story and a good one at that well done Mrs. Wendy Alec I really enjoyed it.

An awesome book!

Firstly, this book was great. I WOULD like to point out though, that Wendy can get pretty carried away with the discriptive details sometimes. Not that it's bad, but sometimes you find yourself saying, "Okay, I get it. Everything looks awesome. Where is the story now?" But usually by this time, she gets to the point.

The writing style is most excellent, and even if you're extremely familiar with scripture, and you know exactly what is going to happen, you will be shocked, touched, and thrilled. There are parts in the bible that seem plain and simple, and she makes it seem dramatic and touching. This is a GREAT read for... anyone!

The Fall of Lucifer -- Awesome Reading so say the least!

I just could not put the book down. Pretty much read it in one sitting and couldn't wait to get my hands on the second one. Now reading #2. They should really make a movie out of it and, when they do, let's hope it will be longer than 1 1/2 hours.

The Fall of Lucifer

The book seems so real that it should be made into a movie. It is easy reading, and it would touch anyone interested in the beginning of human existence, the fall of mankind, and the eternal battle that humans seem to be battling against. i recommend the book for everyone that is into the Bible, or just might be interested in finding out what life is all about.

Bible or Epic Fantasy?

Wendy Alex took on a formidable task in writing this book. It reads like epic fantasy. Lucifer, Michael and Gabriel could easily be Welsh princes or Elvish lords. But they are archangels. Alex takes seriously the biblical narrative so she isn¿t free to write `what really happened¿ as Mary Stewart, Rosemary Sutcliff and others have done with the Arthurian saga and tales of early Britain.

Alex¿s vivid characters certainly give the reader a lot to think about. Lucifer¿s motivation is jealousy over the creation of man. Were we angels not enough? he asks. If this were epic fantasy that would certainly be compelling motive that would garner sympathy for the rebellious protagonist at odds with his ruling Father. But in the Bible Lucifer¿s sin was pride and wanting to put himself in God¿s place. He certainly grows into that in Alex¿s account, but his sin begins with perfectly understandable emotions. But then perhaps that is a lesson for us¿unchecked, our legitimate emotions can take us where we never intended to go.

I liked the way Alex integrates modern science. She has the angels working on prototypes of DNA and animals. They test models for the arc to determine a structure that will withstand the pressures of the Deluge. They have personalities and complicated relationships.

Like Darth Vader, Lucifer is downright evil by the end (although with that spark that could lead to redemption.) But the beginning of his fall feels more like mental illness than sin to me. That raises two questions in my mind: 1) How could mental illness exist in heaven? and 2) Does Alex believe God will damn the mentally ill for bad choices made when they were not in their right mind? As the friend and relative of a number of people who suffer from depression and other mental illnesses, I would hate to think so.

As a writer I am well aware that creating a consistent world is difficult. But why was Michael a warrior, and why do they engaged in swordplay before Lucifer fell? Who was the enemy?

It also sounds like the decision for Christos to be the perfect sacrifice was made well into human history rather than before the foundation of the world. That makes for high drama, but isn¿t biblical.

The Fall of Lucifer began very slowly with long, over-written descriptions, but I have found the deep, love relationships that the characters have with Yehovah and Christos to be a powerful stimulus to my own worship. Even Lucifer after his fall longs for the fellowship he once had.

This book could provoke some interesting discussion in a Christian book group, but prepare to be shocked.

I really enjoyed this book

It is a great read and gives a plausible plot for that which we have no way of knowing what really happened. Once in heaven, I'll be curious to find what really happened.

i loved how wendy made the fall of lucifer seem more human. She seem to take the versse there is nothing new under the sun as her main theme. If you are an openminded person i believe you will love it. espeically if you know your bible stories.

Awesome reading

The mixture of religious and science fiction totally had me thru the entire book. I could not put the book down after I got started. Personally, I thought that the writing was simple enough to understand and I just thought it was totally awesome. It really opened my eyes to a lot of parallels that I seemingly have felt. I was really looking forward to the second book and found out it was not being released until this October 2007. I can not wait to be able to purchase the first and read the second from the library. If they don't order a copy I will just buy both.

The book was fun light reading. It had an easy reading level and nothing complex or deep about it. So don¿t be too excited about this book, because then you¿ll be in for a big disappointment. Also, although this is the first book in a trilogy, no sequel has come out at the time specified (October 2006). The Fall of Lucifer is a nice book, but I wouldn¿t recommend anyone to buy it. Go check if they have it at your local library instead.

Avid reader disappointed

Well, what can I say except that I was very dissapointed in this work. I was so excited, it looked like it was going to be a truly riveting work. However, I felt that the theological issues in the story were not addressed as well as they could be- no new ideas here. Also, what surprised me the most, was that the reading level was extremely easy. For such an engaging work I expected more. The characters were also not developed very well. However, the descriptions of Heaven and Eden are wonderful, you can really feel them.

Absolutely Horrible

I purchased this book on the promise it would have as billed as a 'different take' on the rebellion of Lucifer. Now, while I wasnt expecting 'To Reign In Hell' or even 'Dialogs With The Devil' I was expecting a much more original work... not a hodge podge of science/ technology / 'Old Ones'/ Archetects working on the formula for DNS and mass conversion ratios. Guess I was looking for something with a little depth to it philosophically speaking and this has none of that.

Fall of Lucifer

Superbly thrilling story with brilliant imagery of heaven the author invokes a great passion between the characters of Lucifer Michael and Gabriel. The battle scenes are vivid, but not quite as blood drenched as Lucifer Wars by stuart vowell (the only book of close comparison) and the scene is set for a gripping page turner that will leave the reader riveted.
