Twitchell's Distortion of Truth = Eckankar
Unlike the five star reviewer I cannot overlook the plagiarisms and distortions of truth (lies). Twitchell took the Eastern teachings of Radasoami Satsang (and of his former Master Kirpal Singh) and Westernized it. To 'Westernize' is to make more mental, tangible, scientific, accessible, and to relax some disciplines. Actually, I do think that condensing a mirade of information is a good approach... it's just the way it was done that I didn't care for. Twitchell was no Sat Guru but he made himself into one (mahanta). He was initiated, but never attained a position above the status of yogi and was not given the authority to initiate followers. Those who came after him (Gross and Klemp) were not nearly as enlightened. Again, this book has good information, but the dogma is just too thick. The lineage of Masters Twitchell created were to give himself credibility and ensure his irrefutable position as Mahanta (14th Plane, a title he created for himself). He even placed himself on the level of savior and higher than the 'God' (2nd or 4th Plane) worshipped by all other religions of the world. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
