How to write a review without giving it away. I won't tell you

How to write a review without giving it away.

I won't tell you about this book but I will tell you about one scene that I feel is one of the most powerful passages I have ever read.

In this scene (how to write this without giving out clues) the heroine is not just teased with a devastating blow - only to have her hero save the day or good triumph over evil - as it usually occurs in most romance novels....she actually experiences a horrifying loss. Her inability to effect that outcome made me feel the same way I do when I first wake up from a nightmare.

You know that feeling? your heart is heavy, you are crying and you feel utterly devastated and lost? Only for B it was real and not just a nightmare....and she was not going to wake up from it. She is unable to stop or effect the event and can only watch.

I felt every tear she cried and felt the heavy blow to her heart and soul. I felt every emotion, every bit of horror and bit of hatred she felt for Lorenzo and ultimately fell into shock as deeply as Beatrice did afterwords.

The scene that follows in the brook is so unbelievable that I was stunned. The author put into words the thoughts and feelings of two people without describing what they were feeling. Her images conveyed volumes.

There were so many parts of this book which were fantastic, suspenseful, exciting, romantic...I should be yacking about that....but honestly...you should know that this is a great story because of the author's ability to transport you to the places and make you feel the emotions and thoughts that her characters have. Her ability and the great story is what makes this one of the best series I have ever read and I can not wait to read the next book in this series: A Fall of Water.

This is an incredibly well written series and this is probably my favorite book of the series so far. It just keeps getting better and better! Most paranormal authors tend to focus on the love story and forget that a plot is just as essential to making the book enjoyable. This author delivers on both fronts with a wonderful knack for balancing the two.

    Better Than Twilight Series

This series in much better then the Twilight Series (I would have never thought that would be possible). This Elemental Mysteries is a paranormal book for adults. Teens will like it too, but finally a book where thousand year old Vampires have the wisdom of a thousand years and are not influence by the whims of 20-something year old girls. I loved, loved, loved these 4 books.

    more from this reviewer

can't get enough of this series...

Beatrice and Gio arrive on a secluded island in the Far East in search of her father, Stephen, and most of all in search of answers. Old friends and new acquaintances will come together in this amazing story to help Beatrice and Gio as they seek to find what the manuscript holds. Why is Lorenzo after his grand sire’s manuscript? What could it possibly hold that Lorenzo would kill for it?

So I am really excited to be reviewing The Force of Wind for the blog tour (its starts March 5th), but mainly just because I love this series so very much. When I first started this series I underestimated how much a hold it would have on me. Now here I am just finishing book 3 and I find it keeps getting better. None of the books are the same…each offering different storylines and fresh ideas.

If you have read my other reviews on the Elemental Mysteries books you know I love Gio so much. He is my ideal vampire and he is sexy and he is…well he is just plain hot! Literally and figuratively. He is still absolutely swoonworthy and has gotten better as the series goes on. Oh woes is me when the day comes and this series ends, I will be going through my Gio withdrawals.

All of Hunter’s characters are so well written you feel as if you have known them forever, like a lifelong friend. They each have such a well-developed background you can tell this author cares about each one when she writes. And I love where she is taking Beatrice's character; she has grown so much from when we were first introduced to her. I will say that you Carwyn fans will be a little disappointed that he is not in the book as much.

Hunter gave us another fabulous storyline that is full of romance, mystery, and a few shocking revelations. To say I was stunned halfway through the book is putting it mildly. Kudos Elizabeth for another amazing page turner that was so brilliantly written you had me falling in love with Gio all over again. Sigh, now for the wait until the final book, The Fall of Water.
