The Fundamentals of Landscape Architecture
I would strongly recommend this book if you are interested in studying or starting a career in Landscape Architecture. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
The book begins with an easy-to-follow yet informative overview of landscape history accompanied by some beautiful imagery of prominent projects.
The following chapters guide the reader through the various stages of the design process right from the initial site investigation to ideas for final representation. The book includes work from several influential designers, past and present, as well as a really useful directory of contacts and resources, at the back of the book.
In my opinion, one of the key successes of this book is that it clearly informs the reader of the huge range of roles and subject areas that exist within landscape architecture, such as landscape management and conservation, design for public spaces within cities as well as the role that Landscape Architects will play in relation to climate change and sustainability.
