From one who cooks for a celiac daily (DG)

Bette Hagman strikes gold again! This book is an improvement from the original version, but then aren't we all alot more knowledgeable about cooking with gluten-free flours than we were in 1990 when the original version was published? Every one of Bette's recipes is carefully created with incredible discipline and testing, and the superb results prove it. It takes a lot of practice and experience to understand the nuances of cooking with non-gluten flours, and Bette literally 'takes the cake' with her recipes. I have never been disappointed in her cookbooks and this one is no exception. Her recipes continue to be a lifesaver for the celiac in my life.

    Taste Sensations!

This book is worth it for people with the celiac (sp?) disease or those who are allergic to wheat (like me) but don't have to cut it out completely out of their diet. The corn muffins are better than anything I have tasted. It has several recipes that look wonderful otherwise (although I have not had time to try many of them) it is a great book.

EXTREMELY RECOMMENDED......even if you are NOT Gluten Intolerant

This book will help you understand "what" Gluten Intolerance is, and converts you "regular recipes" into ones that are Gluten free.....EXCELLENT BOOK.......Even if one is not Gluten Intolerant, this is a very healthy way to eat, wonderful recipes and a helpful guide in many ways. One every "cook" should have. It is so easy to eat Gluten Free, and fantastic tool should you have a party, and have a guest who has special needs, you will be able to create a gourmet meal without the worry. Many friends of mine have had an issue with Gluten, my brother very severe, and his comment was....He feels better now than he EVER HAS, and eats like a KING!! A MUST for all serious cooks, one that belongs in every household, one never knows when they may become "Gluten Intolerant".......overall, just a healthier way to eat!!

    God starter cookbook for celiacs.

I don't understand the excessive poor review by one reader. Menus are pretty high in flavor if followed correctly.
Her flour mixes are available at Whole Foods, and are easy to use.
Not a cookbook for beginning cooks. It is a good beginner cookbook for freshly diagnosed celiacs who are experienced cooks.
The pasta recipes have saved my life because I love lasagna and ravioli. There are not alot of those types of gluten free pastas available that taste good. I remade my favorite chicken mushroom ravioli recipe using Betty's gluten free formula, and none of my friends could tell that it was not regular pasta.
