Covers same time period as 'Washington, DC'
What a disappointment. I am only a few pages into this book, so I don't know how it will turn out, but I've learned that it covers the same time period as a previous Vidal book, ''Washington, DC.'' I was expecting Vidal to advance beyond that time period, but no. This book covers 1938 to 1954. It starts in a similar setting--at the home of Blaise Sanford, as several members of Congress discuss the impending war and whether FDR will run for a third term. Yawn. (I gave this book three stars only because the system required me to select a star rating. Since I haven't read the whole thing, I really don't know how many stars to give it.)Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
