The Green Smoothie Recipe Book is split into two parts (much like The Quick and Easy Paleo Cookbook by Telamon Press), the first part of the book filling you with information that they believe you need to know while the second part is focused on the recipes. The book is a good coffee table book or a nice read over when having a cup of tea/coffee or need a new drink for a meal or snack. It has moments where it’s too draggy and moments where it is not informative enough.

The Green Smoothie Recipe Book, is all smoothie recipes, as I'm sure you guessed, so each chapter instead of being devoted to types of meals, like lunch or breakfast, they each have a different health goal, like skin/hair health, or digestive health, or weight loss. It takes into account different tastes too, since a lot of the recipes have tips on how to make them taste a little differently, without loosing the health benefits. Though some of the smoothies are low-sugar and don't include fruit, or are low-calorie or they include a lot of vitamin D.

This book is chock full of delicious and healthy smoothie recipes that will boost any lifestyle and satisfy any craving. It also contains some very useful pieces of general produce information, such as the do-it-yourself fruit and vegetable wash recipe (Chapter 2) and the “Guide to Seasonal Shopping” in the appendix.

Green smoothies are leafy greens blended with liquid, fruits, and vegetables, preferably fresh and organic.  Recipes list ingredients in order for best results, there are tips on selection and storage of produce, but the advice that water bottles contain “no BPA” is mysterious.
Who knew acid “raises the pH level” and “alkalizing” lowers it?  If antioxidants “protect your cells” why eat foods that “improve tissue oxygenation”?
Such points support neither the health claims nor the warning to consume only organic “toxic twenty” foods.

Very useful book for those wishing to begin a healthier lifestyl

Very useful book for those wishing to begin a healthier lifestyle. Contains recipes as well as tips for ingredients and utensils. Some who are more experienced with making smoothies may find some of the information repetitive and not as useful. Also provides ways to change listed recpies.
