    Do not use while on VLCD

    Whether you lose weight using these recipes or not the point is that it does NOT follow the HCG protocol. Numerous of these recipes call for a meat and three veggies, not to mention many seasonings, in one dish. You can only have 1 veg per meal, absolutely no combining. Also, her recipes are for much more than a portion, so unless your whole family is on the HCG diet you will have a ton of leftovers. The VLCD is about sticking to simplicity and basics, I guess we should just stop trying to change it up...

    Wow talk about one step forward eight steps back!

    I'm on my 10th day of Protocol 2 I have lost a total of 15lbs, I wanted a little variety in my meals so I pick this "book." This this is a joke, I have been loosing around 1.5 pounds a day, but when I used the recipes out of this book it cut that down to .6lbs and the last draw I gained 2.6 lbs on a 500 calorie diet with a hormone supplement.

    This book breaks Protocol 2 in so many ways and will jammed you up on progress. Right now I'm a little upset and discouraged, this is not an easy way to loose wight it demand a huge amount of willpower to stay on track. Stay away from this book because your not only wasting twenty bucks, but your risking what your working so hard for. Its totally inaccurate information and would trust my 7 year old son before I would listen to this moron, I'm not one for calling names but its frustrating when you by something for information that is helpful and it hurts you, I'm not up 2.6 Im also down the 1.5 I should have lost. 4.1 lbs, which is 10% of my protocol. Ya that hurts. Thanks again Melissa for writing an awful harmful book.

    A terrific companion for the HCG diet

    Melissa has created many delicious, easy to make recipes that provide the variety you need to survive the 500 VLCD. The book is well designed and the recipes are easy to follow. I didn't know that my husband and I would find so many "diet" recipes that we will incorporate into our every day life. Chili sauced steaks are splendid and don't miss the spicy Fiesta smoked rub on chicken with a side of coleslaw. Yum! This cookbook is meant as a companion to your HCG diet plan, it does not detail the protocol and some ingredients may be prohibited by your weight loss provider (in my case, soy is not allowed.)

    I purchased this book along with HCG 2.0 - Don't Starve, Eat Smart and Lose. I wish I had know that I didn't need it with HCG 2.0. There are so many more protein options with the HCG 2.0 version of the diet. You don't need recipes with the HCG 2.0 version.

    I really enjoyed these recipes!

    This is not your typical diet food. These recipes are very good. (Which helped the diet go a lot quicker.) I really liked the Bangladesh Beef Curry recipe. YUM!

    With this cookbook, you have to actually think about portions. But that's something I needed to learn to do anyway. (Eyeball a portion size and figure out the calories.) But the book was helpful, because it gives the measurement and nutrition information for the food items allowed on the diet in the front half of the book, so it's all there.

    Oh, and the doctor who advised me to go on the HCG diet allowed me to combine vegetables, so that wasn't an issue for me. :) (I'm on a more moderate version of the diet, I guess.)
