Pioneering Physician Deserves accolades for bringing Sound mainstream

Dr. Gaynor courageously puts forth the idea that Sound has a healing effect in Recovery from Illness, and he goes further to chronicle the history of Sound and its current uses to support the healthcare process. Concise and well written, this book is easly understood by the general public, and offers a new look at an ancient modality, bringing it forth as a viable option in the healing process. Valuable exercises allow the reader to experience firsthand the use of Sound in their daily practice. The use of healing Sound instruments such as Singing Bowls, in conjunction with vocal toning, is demystified and logically explained. Dr. Gaynor brings his credibility as a Oncology physician to this topic as he takes a fresh look at a healthcare modality that is often dismissed out of hand. The book offers a well rounded distillation of varied sources bringing important information into mainstream healthcare. I recommend this book as my first choice in lectures on Sound Therapy at hospitals, cancer retreats, and conferences. I am delighted that this resource is available to the general public for their own healthcare.

Sound healing could transform our future medical practices

This is a intriguing and fascinating book! Anyone who has ever experienced the transformative power of sound and music will intuitively understand Dr. Mitchell Gaynor's leap to use sound to heal his patients.

The book is well written, researched and very understandable; the medical community would certainly benefit by opening their minds to the possibility of what Dr. Gaynor calls "complementary," not alternative medicine. He integrates historical data on the origins of sound healing, interesting clinical patient stories and trials, and cites the latest research in quantum physics to document how we, as human beings have always used sound-based techniques for healing and soothing in our cultures around the world. He gives us easily-followed techniques that anyone can employ to help heal themselves, and a resource guide for more in-depth study and treatment.

This is a profound book that could revolutionize the way we help people heal. Healing with sound could be a new frontier of the future.
