    Comedic Buddy Story

Sometimes people seek their fate. Other times fate forces itself on a person. However there is a third option, fate could completely shun you. This is the case for Mathew Blurdy. The mystical helm sees Matt as a loser and tells Matt to go away. What a great idea, the premise alone is worth the price of admission.

It is a fun ride watching Matt stumble on the road to being a hero. The artwork adds to the enjoyment. The interaction between Matt and The Helm is great. I think we could add this duo to the list of some of the greats.

After a great first half, the story it becomes a little pedestrian. Matt has to hide his secret from his mom and girlfriend. The worlds collide in a climatic, if not expected, finale. At which point the reset button is hit and everything is prepped for a second volume. The story may be a little tired, but if you like comedic buddy stories this one is pretty fun.
